Range Safety Officer/Chief Range Safety Officer

The RSO class teaches the student to run a firing range. This class covers the duties and responsibilities of the Range Safety Officer and their relationships to the shooters, the Chief Range Safety Officer, and the range owner.

This is an essential certification for anyone who will be running a firing line. Most insurance companies require a certified RSO be present during shooting activities.

The CRSO class teaches the student how to develop the range Standard Operating Procedures. It also teaches the student the duties and responsibilities of the Chief Range Safety Officer.

The CRSO can have one or more RSOs working for them, and is the liaison between the RSOs and the range owner.

The CRSO certification is an instructor rating and is priced as such. The CRSO student must already be an RSO and have had the NRA Basic Instructor Training course within the previous two years.

Costs:
RSO – $150
CRSO – $325
